How the PTO works

The Maple PTO relies solely on volunteer support from parents, teachers and the broader community to plan and carry out a variety of events throughout the year. The PTO is led by a seven-person executive committee that is nominated and elected by the school community. Committees, each led by co-chairs, focus on several activities including fundraising, educational enrichment, and social activities. Committees rely on the time and talents of our members, parents and teachers alike.

How to get involved

Whether you have a lot of time or a little time to spare, the PTO – and the student community – can benefit from your help.  While we are always in need of leaders who can mobilize a team and oversee key programs, many of our initiatives simply need a few hours of your time a year. If you have special skills – fundraising, communications, art, or finance – we would love to benefit from your guidance and expertise.

You are also welcome and encouraged to attend our PTO meetings. Principal, Samuel Kurtz, and assistant principal, Angela Jaeger, attend our meetings to share school updates and insights. Meeting topics typically include school news, social events and volunteer opportunities.

2025/2026 Committees

These committees coordinate an event for the PTO. Responsibilities may include publicizing the event, collecting money, organizing volunteers, ordering food/drinks/desserts, purchasing supplies and/or decorations, arranging for the set-up and clean up of the event.

Financial Guidelines

Guidelines to follow when planning PTO related events, including how to handle reimbursements/disbursements.

Reimbursement Form

Reimbursement requests must be for expenses incurred planning PTO related events or other PTO committee expenses that meet the approval of the PTO Presidents. The treasurer will be unable to disperse funds without the receipts. You may receive a faster response by uploading the receipts.

Tax Exempt Form

When making purchases on behalf of Maple PTO, present this form at the time of purchase for tax exemption.

The intent of the PTO meetings are to help us stay informed. Both Mr. Kurtz and Ms. Jaeger will attend each PTO meeting, and we will cover a vast array of topics that may affect your child. Meetings will take place at 6:30PM in Maple’s Library (LMC) or Cafetorium.
